Jayson Tatum recorded 39 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists for the Celtics with Jaylen Brown adding 34 points and 4 assists in the victory. The win gives Boston a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Tatum was efficient from the field, shooting 13-of-21, including 5-of-9 from three-point range. Brown was also efficient, shooting 11-of-18 from the field.

The Celtics led by as many as 17 points in the fourth quarter, but the Mavericks cut the lead to 10 with just over five minutes remaining. However, Boston was able to close out the game and secure the victory.

Game 2 of the series will be played on Sunday in Dallas.
