Alexander Zverev Triumphs in Rome, Matching Becker's Masters Final Record

German Star Captures His Second Italian Open Title

Zverev Defeats Jarry in Straight Sets

Alexander Zverev solidified his status as one of the most dominant players on the ATP Tour by securing a thrilling victory in the 2024 Rome Masters. The German maestro showcased his exceptional skills and resilience, battling past Nico Jarry in straight sets to lift the prestigious trophy for the second time in his illustrious career.

Zverev entered the final with an impressive 10-0 record on clay this season, and he carried that momentum into the championship match. With unwavering focus and determination, he overwhelmed Jarry with his powerful serve and aggressive groundstrokes. Zverev broke his opponent's serve three times in the opening set, ultimately sealing it 6-4.

The second set proved to be a more competitive affair, with both players exchanging breaks of serve early on. However, Zverev regained control by breaking Jarry's serve in the seventh game. Despite a brief resurgence from the Chilean, Zverev remained steadfast and secured the set 7-5, clinching the title and equaling Boris Becker's record of reaching 11 Masters finals.
